'Talk on the Tyne' TeachMeet

Animate 2 Educate Ltd are delighted to be once more hosting their very own 'TeachMeet-style' event 'Talk on the Tyne - A Night of Geet Canny Teaching Ideas' on the evening of Thursday 7th June 2018.
The event is being held at CAMPUS NORTH (Carlioll Square, Newcastle upon Tyne) and will run from 7:00pm - 11:00pm. The evening will be packed full of wonderful ideas that you can take back to school and use in your own classrooms.
Tickets are FREE, but must be booked in advance as there is a maximum capacity for the room and numbers are also needed for catering.
You can also book your tickets as part of a package with the 'Tech on the Tyne' conference, which is being held the following day, at the nearby Tyneside Cinema.
For those of you not familiar with the TeachMeet concept, the event will be a bit like an open-mike session for musicians, but instead will give speakers from the educational world will have an allocated time to share a good idea that they feel can make a difference in schools.
The evening will also feature a keynote from the inspirational Ruth Fox (@FoxInTheBox05), a Mental Health Ambassador for the FA and the author of 'The Unseen Battle'. Ruth will share her harsh reality of what mental illness can do in a seemingly ideal life and the role that teachers and education played in her story.
There are then 15 slots available for teachers to give a presentation of about 5 minutes in duration, where they share an idea or resource that has had an impact in their class or school.  Not only is this a brilliant CPD opportunity for those in attendance, but also for those who choose to present.
Although Talk on the Tyne is being held on the eve of a Computing conference, there is no requirement for ideas to be computing-based, just simply a good educational idea that you think is worth sharing. The target audience for this event, and therefore for ideas shared is Primary and KS3 from the Secondary sector.

A few carefully selected companies will also be given the opportunity to share ideas about their exciting resources throughout the evening.

There is an NCP car park directly opposite Campus North. It charges an evening rate of £5.00 (17:00 - 23:59), however there are a number of other nearby car parks (Dean Street, Quayside Multi) that have FREE 'Alive after 5pm' parking and Campus North is only a 5 minute walk from Monument Metro Station. 
Wi-Fi and Event Hashtag
FREE wi-fi will be available to all attendees on the evening. The official hashtag for the event is #TalkontheTyne
A screen, projector and laptop will be available for you to use at the fornt of the room. You can either e-mail your presentation in advance, or can bring it along on a memory stick. Alternatively you may wish to bring along your own device to plug into the VGA cable. VGA to 30 pin and VGA to lightning connectors will also be available for those wishing to use iPads. A handheld microphone and headset microphone will be available for presenters to use and there is and integrated sound system in the room, so you can simply plug an audio jack into your device for those of you needing sound. There is however no need to use digital resources, some presenters may wish to simply talk about their idea, or show a resource or pupils work. The format of the presentation is entirely up to you!
