Great couple of days welcoming Neil Coleman (Headteacher of Birchwood Primary School, Tamworth) and his Year 5 pupils up to the North East. Neil and I have been great friends since we met at university in Birmingham over 35 years ago and it is great that we now have this wonderful partnership between his school and my own school (Lanchester EP, Co.Durham). His pupils loved visiting the likes of Durham Cathedral, The Angel of the North, Lanchester village, Newcastle Quayside and of course no trip to see the sights of the North East would be complete without a trip to St.James’ Park! At the start of next academic year, my Y5 pupils will be visiting Birchwood and The Midlands. COVID had curtailed our ‘partner school’ visits in recent years, so was great to get these back on-track again this week. Loads of fabulous memories created for pupils (and staff).
