Alston - Day 2

Normally ‘working away’ involves Premier Inns and motorway service stations, so been a lovely change over the past two days to stay at Lowbyer Manor Country House (c1778) whilst working at Alston Primary School in Cumbria. Thoroughly enjoyed spending time in Alston village on the edge of the Lake District and being able to have a relaxing evening walk and some nice home-cooked pub grub, rather than simply a walk across a car park to a Toby Carvery etc. Made incredibly welcome by all members of the Alston community.
