Deleting Twitter (X)

I have made the decision to delete my Twitter (X) account on 31st December. It’s a decision I make with a heavy heart. For many years, Twitter was my main social platform and played a huge part in the growth of Animate 2 Educate. I’m proud to have built a community of almost 7,000 followers, and many wonderful interactions and friendships were formed through the 25,000 tweets I shared over my 15 years on the platform. However, since its takeover by Elon Musk and rebrand to X, the site is no longer what it once was. The content that now appears on my feed is often not what I want to see, and the education community (once so active and vibrant), has largely moved away from the platform. I considered leaving at the end of the last academic year, but at that time I wasn’t quite ready. I know I’m much later than many in making this decision, but this term has made it clear that meaningful interaction from the education world has all but disappeared. I’m now fully at peace with stepping away. From January, I’ll be sharing updates and insights on LinkedIn (now very much my main platform) and on Facebook, as well as Instagram at martinbailey_animate2educate and TikTok at @animate2educate. I hope you’ll join me on those platforms as I continue to share my adventures and reflections from the EdTech world. Thank you for the memories. When the bird flew away, it marked the end of a truly great site.
